Crowns and Bridges
What is a Crown and Bridge?
A crown is a protective cover or cap placed over a badly decayed, root-canal treated or heavily broken-down tooth. A crown is also used as part of a dental implant to replace a missing tooth.
Having a crown for an affected tooth not only protects the tooth, it can also be used to close the gaps between teeth.
A bridge is a special kind of dental prosthesis to replace one or more missing teeth. The artificial teeth are supported by existing adjacent teeth known as abutments.
Dental crown comes in different materials:
- Gold
- full metal
- full porcelain
- porcelain fused to metal
The dentist will recommend the choice of colour and shape for to suit your aesthetic needs.
